The Herlihy Christmas House

This private family home is decorated for Christmas with many collections, some dating back 50+ years!. Featured is their personal collection of more than 25 themed Christmas trees, hundreds of Santas, villages, Disney, trains, etc. Come and make their family tradition part of your Christmas tradition.

History: Paul Herlihy began his Christmas hobby when he was a young boy and decorated his bedroom in the family owned funeral home (Herlihy Funeral Home is still the family business - http://www.herlihyfh.com/). Paul's love for Christmas continued and grew as he got older and then eventually married Sharon, moved into this family home and had their daughter, Terri that caught the Christmas spirit as well.

In December of 1987, Paul and his family, wife Sharon and daughter Terri, were approached by the Mansfield Symphony Guild to be included in the holiday parade of homes and allow the public to tour their home.

The year after that they were approached by the Richland County Dog Pound to take donations to benefit the Spay-Neuter Program. The Herlihy's loved the idea of all of this and had decided that the heart and soul of Christmas is watching the looks on children's eyes and see everything how we all have as a child and decided to continue and take donations to give to Toy Time.

Then in 1996 the Mansfield / Richland County Convention and Visitor's Bureau assisted the Herlihy's with bringing in bus tours to tour their home during the month of December. The family continued to hold an open house for the public to tour for many years.

In November of 1999 Paul passed away after a long battle of cancer. The the family wanted to continue his legacy and had an open house once again in 2001 making donations to Toy Time and Hospice of North Central Ohio, and talked about holding it every other year.

Then in November of 2003 Terri decided to purchase the family home and moved in and have now decided to carry on her dad's tradition.

This family tradition has been a part of so many other Christmas traditions and we want to continue to offer it as long as we can! So come and celebrate this wonderful holiday season and make it a part of your tradition as well.
